Bob Cornelis is an award winning Olympia, WA-based artist who has been exhibiting his work since 1996. He has worked across several art mediums, including printmaking, collage, pastels, bookbinding and photography.
After a long career in technology, Cornelis turned his attention to the art world and founded Color Folio in 1998 making it one of the earliest fine art digital printing studios in the country.
His focus from the beginning has been on the physical form of art, ensuring that art does not reside solely on a screen. He has incorporated a wide range of processes in his work, including 19th century photographic processes such as platinum/palladium and cyanotype, collagraph plates and chiné-colle in his printmaking and various handbound book, letterpress and paper architecture structures to create one-of-a-kind art objects.
His work has been shown in galleries and museums around the country and he has been published in periodicals including The Hand Magazine and Diffusion. In 2013 he published the book STUDIO: 50 Sonoma County Artists.
